I first noticed this on my phone, about a week or so ago, but i can reproduce on desktop firefox with mobile.twitter.com/ URLs.

In the mobile twitter page, images display fine on a user's main page, e.g. https://mobile.twitter.com/firefox. But if I click on a tweet to see the conversation around that tweet I see e.g. https://mobile.twitter.com/firefox/status/770287825027604482?lang=en-gb where replies have pic.twitter.com/foo links instead of inline images.

If I click on the link I get a server not found error as pic.twitter.com/WdFfZUDqaj leads to https://mobile.twitter.comhttps//twitter.com/crisun73/status/770340485630164993/photo/1 - which is obviously broken, the ".comhttps//twitter.com" fragment is not a typo.

If I click on the comment I get a conversation view for that comment, e.g. https://mobile.twitter.com/crisun73/status/770340485630164993 where now I can see the image but the image in the original @firefox tweet now has the same problem.

All of the above with normal twitter URLs works as expected. In fact, https://twitter.com/crisun73/status/770340485630164993 not only shows all images but shows an extra reply in the conversation. But maybe this is a separate bug?
