I got an html email from hotmail and when i click Message -> Edit message as
new, it opens a new window. The formating is all messed up with all line edings
lost and it is in a Sans Serif font with the html toolbar at the top of the
message window, Now as I set my compostion to be in a monospace font i noticed this!

There should be a way to disable all html emails, this one appears to miss this
check. the formating is messed up as well, but perhaps thats been fixed now..

Steps to Reproduce:
1.get ane html email
2.click Message -> Edit message as new
3.see the html tool bar and how it does not follow the settigns in message
compostion in the preferences

You may need to uncheck "Compose messages in HTML format" in Edit->Mail &
Newsgroups Account Setting for the POP account you're using as send address.

"Compose messages in HTML format" is the first thing I disable when creating a
new profile.

This menu option seems to disregard that setting as the origional was in html

I can confirm that still happens what the reporter ...reported.
The question is if Mozilla really should try/be able to convert html mails to
plaintext before editing as new.
That's up to MailNews people anyway, so I'll loose no more words about it.

confirming, at least, on Moz 1.5 final on WinXP Pro.

As Andreas said, I'm not sure if it should work this way, or if it's a bug.

This could probably be solved by fixing Bug 216132 (Toggle mail compose between plain text and html).
