Steps to reproduce:

Visited a few sites, and I am attaching a screenshot from Facebook.

The page initially shows up fine, but then as I scroll down, there are portions of the page that are stretched out vertically.

Problem is only visible with HW acceleration enabled.

This did not cause any problem with previously used release (latest 48.x), so there is something with the 49.x branch.

Hardware is Lenovo/ThinkPad X300

New attachment showing the problem with text as well, so not just image issue. (yes, I realize everything is ultimately rendered with graphics...)

Your issue is probably a duplicate of bug 1304360.

More questions:

1) could you type about:support in the location bar and copy here the section "graphics"

2) could you set layers.allow-d3d9-fallback preference (in about:config) to false, restart, and see if the problems are gone

Both cases with HW Acceleration enabled

With layers.allow-d3d9-fallback  set to false : don't see the problem
With layers.allow-d3d9-fallback  set to true  : see the problem right away

(and restarted FF for each test)

I looked at that bug's images, and yes, it's identical issue.
