User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:48.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/48.0 Build ID: 20160823121617 Steps to reproduce: Firefox updated to 49. Actual results: Whenever I scroll down while I am playing a game, like a flash game, the game would just flicker whenever im scrolling with the wheel button. It isnt anything else that is causing the problem im sure because when I used revert back to the old update the game didn't do that. Expected results: The game shouldn't have flicker whenever I scrolled.

@repoter Could you test with Beta50.0b1 Developer edition51.0a2 or Nightly52.0a1? [1] https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/#beta [2] https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/#developer [3] https://nightly.mozilla.org/
Flags: needinfo?(sth111111)
Please also test with dom.ipc.plugins.asyncdrawing.enabled set via about:config.

But the difference is I have to click outside my game in order to scroll. I am pretty sure I didn't have to do that in the past. Is that a new feature?

Now I had to go back to the old version because after 1-2 minutes of playing a game on the beta one it just was unresponsive.
@Reporter, can you please send me the URL to the flash games? Also please tell me the version of Adobe Flash that is installed. In the meantime I will run some test with Flash games applying Fx49 and Flash 23.0.0.162. Thanks.

Flash 23.0.0.162 is the version im using. Also it is happening with every flash game I play. I even go on different websites and it still does the same thing. Here is a flash game the bug happens on http://www.y8.com/games/mega_mechs_assembling.
Reproducible: yes I can reproduce applying the site http://www.y8.com/games/mega_mechs_assembling. dom.ipc.plugins.asyncdrawing.enabled set to true, I cannot reproduce I also tested dom.ipc setting at false with e10s disabled and was able to produce an unresponsive plugin script message for Shockwave Flash Version 49.0.1 Build ID 20160922113459 User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:49.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/49.0

Bug 1305135 will fix this given that the asyncdrawing pref had an effect.
Depends on: 1305135
This is by design since we hide plugin windows for scrolling. However Firefox doesn't appear to be rendering window captures with this particular flash game. I'll look into this to see if it's more wide spread.

Retesting with a clean profile on release shows that the thumbnailing code is working. So things are working as expected.
