User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:49.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/49.0 Build ID: 20160928160550 Actual results: After upgrading from Firefox version 48 to version 49 I noticed that the arrows of menu entries are now invisible but do appear on hovering the mouse over the related entry. This makes it inconvenient to determine if an entry has a submenu or not (and could lead to confusion by bad favicons in bookmarks).
Could you attach a screenshot, please.
For some reason the menu is in the screenshot always black (maybe a bug in xwd). But on testing this with VirtualBox on a Windows 10 guest I'm not seeing this issue there with Firefox 49. So this seems to be a Linux/GTK+ 3 specific issue. To test this just enable the menu bar and click on "Tools". The entry "Web Developer" is now missing its arrow which was pointing to its submenu (but it gets visible on hovering the mouse over the "Web Developer" entry).

I'm still seeing this on Firefox 49 even with a new profile (I'm on Ubuntu 16.10 dev).

I can reproduce the problem on Firefox49.0.1 Ubuntu16.04 x64 + GNOME Classic + "Radiance". However, I cannot reproduce the problem on Beta50.0b4, Aurora51.0a2 and Nighty52.0a1. STR 1. Open Bookmarks menu (Alt + b) 2. Mouse hover over folder "Mozilla Firefox >" 3. Move mouse to elsewhere Actual Results ">" will disappear Expected Results: ">" should not disappear
