Steps to reproduce:

49.0.1
Windows 7 Enterprise and Windows Server 2012 R2
the issue can be reproduced by opening the attached html page, and attempting to print (to printer or pdf ), but ether the shortcut CTRL+P or through the print option in the menu, and selecting "OK" after picking the printer.


Actual results:

Error pop-up "Print Preview Error: There is not enough free memory to print". removing any parts of the html page attached, can stop the error from reappearing. (this includes removing non-html portions or font attributes)


Expected results:

page should be printed.

I can't reproduce the issue with FF49 on Win 7.

Does it print preview normally with a fresh profile?

print preview always worked. only the action of printing causes the error error message to show up,

after creating  new profile, as described in the link, the issue persists: 
1) open the browser with the new profile
2) CTRL+O and select the html file
3) CTRL+P and press "OK"
4) printing window displays progress up to "50%" 
5) "Print Preview Error -  There is not enough free memory to print"

this happens for both physical printers and "print to pdf" options. 
why would printing the content of the attached file cause "not enough free memory" error, while removing any small part of the file ( including section of text ) cause printing to succeed with no error?

Bug confirmed in Firefox 53.0.2 (32 bits)
Occurs with a fresh install and profile.

I can't reproduce using 64bit current nightly on Windows 7 using testcase nor with http://cms.lifelong-learning.lu/Public/PrintFormanews.aspx - output to "doPDF 8"

As another data point:

I got this just now on my Firefox (54.0.1 32-bit, Windows 7 Pro SP1, networked Canon Pixma). I was trying to print a UMD student's 2-page class schedule. It requires login to view, so the URL is probably not helpful. Similar symptoms as the OP: get to 50%, then pop up that error. However, in my case, in between those two it very briefly flashed a "Printing Completed" box. I note that the error popup title says "Printer error", not "Print Preview error".

Telling it not to print background colors didn't help, but it did work when I "printed" via PDF995 to a file, which I was then able to print from Acrobat Reader.

I'll attach a screenshot of the error with the page behind it. I don't think I've seen this before today, even though I've printed the same type of page from the same site several previous semesters.

Given the error box title, I suspect the problem is a glitch with either the printer driver or the print spooler, not Firefox. I'd bet money that the reason is bogus, since my system only has 56% memory use right now, and sizeable pagefile space. spoolsv.exe is only 16MB; splwow64.exe is less than 8MB. (Firefox itself is using about 1.5GB, but it can get to 2.5GB before starting to go haywire.)
