This crash first showed up in Nightly 20160929030426. Since then it has happened 32 times across 20 installations.

The correlations from https://mozilla.github.io/stab-crashes/correlations.html are interesting, because they suggest that the "ZenMate Security & Privacy VPN" extension (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/zenmate-security-privacy-vpn/) is involved, as is the Russian locale, and perhaps some gfx configurations:

I added a new parameter (channelId) to the Redirect1Begin method in PHttpChannel.ipdl. That was in June, bug 1274556. I don't see why this change should start to cause crashes now in September.

I looked briefly at the ZenMate addon and it does two network-related things:
- sets up a PAC proxy - sets network.proxy.type to 2 and network.proxy.autoconfig_url to a data: URL
- adds a Proxy-Authorization header to every request, utilizing a http-on-modify-request listener

Honza, any advice on how to proceed with this crash?

My first guess would be that this is not related (you change and this crash).  Best would be to try to reproduce this crash locally.  Then we could investigate what's going on.

I think the signature just changed because more IPDL messages have been added.

The correlation to Russian locale is compatible with bug 1294719. It's even stronger now that we have more reports: (73.28% in signature vs 05.17% overall) useragent_locale = ru.
