Open site http://www.exposave.com/
try print preview on a hp laserjet 1220 series PCL5


Actual results:

print preview is as attached image


Expected results:

just a page preview

I can't reproduce it with FF49. Remember Print Preview is a feature from Firefox, not your printer and its driver.

Could you test:
1) in safe mode:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

2) with a fresh profile:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles

in safe mode is misbehaving as before
with a fresh profile the preview is working properly

As I can't reproduce it with my current profile and it works for you with a new profile, I close the bug report as worksforme. If you find some STR, feel free to reopen it.

removing from pref.js the hp1220 printer related settings solved the issue, there is a missing sanity check

I'm going to resolve this as a duplicate of bug 1276717.

I also landed what should be a better sanitization of the prefs in bug 1369386, but it is difficult to completely remove the issue, because in some cases these would be valid print settings (for example printing labels).

Please re-open or file a new bug if you see this issue again with the latest version of Firefox.
