User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:49.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/49.0
Build ID: 20160922113459
Steps to reproduce:
Enter this example url:
https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/fishcooking/vuoEKP2yOCE%5B476-500%5D
Actual results:
The example page takes "forever" to load...
Expected results:
The page should load faster.
The issue is similiar to Bug 924001.
I tried many times and almost always it takes over 22s. (on Opera it takes 17s)
I tried even:
- run again with disabled addons
- after restarting Firefox
- on older and even ancient versions of Firefox (2-49)
- on 3 different PCs (1x Windows 7 SP1 + 2x Windows XP SP3)
Different Google Groups pages also give similiar bad experiences - loading time 10-20s and sometimes even Unreponsive Script warning pops up, sometimes even two times (after clicking Continue), sometimes pages won't load (loading takes really forever). That started a few years ago but now I lost patience...you can't normally view and use the Google Groups forums... I read somewhere once that it is because Google's code is spaghetti. And also a fact that on Opera it also takes long time to load, leads to the same conclusion. But I'm not sure, so finally, is that a Google's or Firefox's issue ? If that is a Google's issue then I never in my life met so slow forum. What the hell is wrong with Google Forums then? Does it just sucks? Can Firefox developers fix / workaround that from inside Firefox?

Hello Marcino, I tried reproducing this issue several times and compared the load time between Chrome, IE,and Firefox. I observed almost same load time(8-12s)on Chrome and Firefox. On IE it takes around 25s.
Version 49.0.1
User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:49.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/49.0
This is not a Firefox issue but I would try to direct it to the appropriate people and see if something could be done from our side.

Hello Marcino, This issue seems duplicate of bug 802731 as symptoms of this issue very closely resemble the ones reported in bug 802731. There is more detailed technical analysis in that bug about what's going on, but unfortunately, the basic issue is on Google's end.
Thanks for the report!
