If media.eme.enabled is set to false a prompt is displayed when visiting a site that requires a CDM for playback. However, when visiting a site such as http://shaka-player-demo.appspot.com/demo/ this prompt is shown briefly and then disappears. This appears to be due to the browser fist seeing that the desired CDM is disabled, then deciding that it can create a clearkey CDM. The first action creates the prompt, while the second action clears this message. This is particularly notable on platforms where DRM is disabled by default, i.e. Linux. Steps to repro: - In about:config set media.eme.enabled to false - Navigate to http://shaka-player-demo.appspot.com/demo/ - Note the prompt that quickly disappears at the top of the page (this can be extremely quick, so a few refreshes to try and observe it can help) The fix in Bug 1150371 looks to resolve this issue.

Fix has been uplifted to 50 beta (see discussion in 1150371). I have verified this. With the closeness of the 50 release this will not be fixed in 49.
