At least two users are reporting that Avast Browser Cleanup is offering to remove the following system addons: ID: asyncrendering@mozilla.org Name: Asynchronous Plugin Rendering ID: d3d9fallback@mozilla.org Name: D3D9 Acceleration Fallback https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/58bkbu/avast_browser_cleanup_is_prompting_me_to_remove/ The user commenting in the post confirming it indicated that they were prompted to do this, that is, they did not manually initiate the scan. The poster noted: > (Taken from the log file.) referencing the addons referenced. Making me think that they were not even presented original with the list. If many users follow prompts to remove or disable these addons, this could lead to some poor experiences.

QA Update: I wonder if this is because Avast was already installed - I just installed Avast and I have message Your Browsers appear to be free from add-ons that have a poor reputation. See screenshot... I will fire up a new VM, Install Avast and then install Firefox. I will update again with results.

Reproduced - reference screenshot Avast & Win 8_1_SystemAddOns 20160922113459 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; rv:49.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/49.0 please "ni" if more testing is needed.
The original reddit poster replied to me with more info saying: === Thx! Follow-up: Yes, I didn't manually scan. I was prompted with this after logging in following a reboot due to a Windows Update. The names of the plugins were presented to me but I was curious if those were the official default plugins (and not spoofed ones), so I looked at the log for details. [edit] I'm using Name Firefox Version 49.0.1 Build-ID 20160922113459 on Windows 10 x64 and Avast Free Antivirus Version 11.2.22.62 Database Version 161019-0
Oops, forgot to mention, since I originally posted there have been 3 additional users posting in that thread that they experienced the same prompt.
ideally if signed by mozilla - don't impact. need info'ing Kev to see if it's biz dev and how to adress with them. rob helmer has details on what we'd request to avoid this issue.

I believe this was rectified a few months back. Please reopen if that's not the case.
