[Steps to reproduce]:

 1. Launch Firefox.
 2. Download an item which has a long name.
 3. Open the Download Panel.

[Expected result]:

 The truncating occurs at the end of the string.

[Actual result]:

 The truncating occurs in the middle of the string.

[Additional notes]:

 According to the Download Panel specifications from bug 1269956 the truncate should happen at the end of the string.

 This issue is not a recent regression, it reproduces back to Fx version 30.0.

I think it's actually an oversight of the specification. Showing the ellipsis in the middle is the best way to provide information about the file name and extension.
