I observe same broken behavior in Nightly 52.0a1 20161025030205 on Mac 10.12. Works on Safari.

Want to clarify - pinch doesn't work on any website, not only on Google Maps (on Mac)

This is fixed for Google Maps in Firefox 55 and up. We now translate a pinch gesture into Ctrl+wheel. Bug 688990 is the bug about generic pinch zooming on regular websites.
