Example page:

Arrow key scrolling is fine, pageup/pagedown is slow, mousewheel scrolling is
slow. 100% CPU usage.
IE 6 is very fast on this page.

Attempting to switch focus to page takes a good two seconds.

Getting rid of the body-background image (a 1625 x 5 gif) got rid of the
slowness and the focus delay.

This problem has been around for a long time, but with so many other similar
scrolling performance issue bugs, I was hoping that one of those fixes would
take care of this as well. Since the latest patches don't....

Using:
Win2K
Athlon XP 1700+
RAM: 1 GB
GForce2 MX Pro (12.90 drivers)

contrary to bug 130228 i can't see exceptional slowness here on 2002031403/WinXP
on my AthlonTB 1GHz - in other words: WFM
I have the same type of problem - VERY jerky page scrolling. I have windows
2000 SP2 on a 1G Celeron, 512 MB RAM. Moz build is 2002031403. URL in question
is http://www.fidonews.org/
Ok, I've now installed the 0.9.9 release (2002031104), and the problem isn't
there. So it's either a regression in the nightlies, or a fix that was done in
the branch and not the trunk.
this may be fixed by the latest fix in that area.
Since this bug was reported, a newer version of Mozilla (1.0 RC1) has been
released. Reporter, please can you check to see whether this bug is still
present in a recent build (Moz1-RC1 or a new nightly build). If
this bug does not occur please can you resolve the bugreport?

BTW, Page works fine for me (Moz1.0 RC1 build id 2002041903)

Site works fine now, but unfortunately that's because they changed their layout,
not because the bug was fixed. As this has been marked duplicate, and the ESPN
page is behaving much like the AnimeNation page did (and I've tested with latest
version), I'll just let it rest and follow the other bug.
