In Mail and News, It would be nice to be able to right-click on a message and select "Scan with [pre-defined virus scanner]"

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/52.0 SeaMonkey/2.49a1
Build ID: 20161005004944

Steps to reproduce:

Right-clicked on a message (both in the message list and in the body of the message; also on an attachment).

Actual results:

There was no choice for scanning with either my anti-virus software or my anti-spyware software

Expected results:

Should have had both choices in the context menu, especially on the attachment
I doubt that that can be done by SeaMonkey. An Email does not exist as a separate file, but it's in a long (some kind of text-) file together with other emails. This request would require a unique interface for all Antivirus software which can be used for SM to tell "Antivirus.exe, please check document <...\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\SeaMonkey\Profiles\4yc3exdb.Rainer3\Mail\Local Folders\trash> line xyz to line (xyz+725)" for example.
IMHO the only possible thing might be "Antivirus.exe, please check complete document <...\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\SeaMonkey\Profiles\4yc3exdb.Rainer3\Mail\Local Folders\trash>". But also this would require a common interface.

I wouldn't mind having to right-click on the folder and scan the entire folder (and presumably all subfolders). In fact, I would say that that would be a *good* thing to have.
SeaMonkey now supports "maildir" format where each email message is in a separate file. Unfortunately the format needs to be specified when creating an account. So in future this would be possible.

I did not see a choice when I added a new POP3 email account with official en-US SeaMonkey 2.49a1 (NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/52.0 Build 20161107002359 (Default Classic Theme) on German WIN7 64bit.
- Required UI not yet implemented?
- I missed something?
