Steps to reproduce:
1. Extract the testcase file
2. Open test.html
3. Refresh it several times
Expected result:
The block should immediately turn green.
Actual result:
The block usually turns green after a while. And sometimes the block stays in red forever.
There is a ref.html in the testcase bundle, which is almost identical to test.html except that it doesn't use CSS variable. You can see that the block always turns green immediately.
I'm not sure whether it is a style system bug or a image rendering bug.

This is probably more a style system bug, otherwise variable shouldn't be affecting.
