Sorry, not sure about the component. Using 0.9.9 main release in Win98SE. For some reason my system setting for URLs of type http and https got deleted. I set Mozilla to claim these services. I also checked that it would complain if others took it over. Problem: Mozilla does not set those services. I even uncked the options, restarted, re-checked the options, restarted. Nothing happens. Expected: Mozilla generates those entries in the registry to make itself the application for those protocols. pi

I investigated further and compared to another (basically identical) system. Looking at the registry path HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http (and HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\https the like) I found most entries correct, but some missing: [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http] @="URL:HTTP (HyperText Transfer-Protokoll)" "EditFlags"=dword:00000002 "URL Protocol"="" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\DefaultIcon] @="C:\\PROGRA~1\\MOZILLA\\MOZILLA.EXE,0" I cannot promise, this is the exact thing missing, but close. So my *guess* is that Mozilla does not check if those things exist and does not set if missing. pi

"set as default browser" in preferences WFM. I also see that "URL Protocol"="" is empty, but everything works? Is there still a problem?
