Not sure if this is an isolated example or if there are other instances but ...
The "Private Browsing on Firefox for Android" KB article appears as a solved question in the Firefox for Android support forum. When you search the site for Private Browsing on Firefox for Adroid, it comes up here:
https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Firefox-for-Android/Private-Browsing-on-Firefox-for-Android/m-p/16024
The article is currently on page 61 of the Firefox for Android questions list:

https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Firefox-for-Android/Tracking-Protection-in-Firefox-for-Android/td-p/34124 is another example of a kb article turned forum-post
I've created copies of the two articles mentioned above as "to be reviewed" drafts in the English KB:
https://support.mozilla.org/t5/tkb/dashboardpage/tkb-id/Protect-Privacy-Firefox-Android
@Joni - please take a look just to make sure they're OK in that format. Thank you for your expert help!

Thanks, @vesper. I've published the drafts and they seem to look fine now: https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Protect-your-privacy/tkb-p/Protect-Privacy-Firefox-Android

You're welcome but the support forum posts still exist and these old KB URLs still redirect to the support forum:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/private-browsing-firefox-android
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/tracking-protection-Firefox-android
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-use-do-not-track-firefox-android
Should these redirects be fixed after the new KB article is created and published?

https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Firefox/Use-a-Master-Password-to-protect-stored-logins-and-passwords/m-p/1363440#M1033626 is another KB article appearing as a question in the Firefox support forum. I found it listed at the top of my AliceWyman profile list of topics I've participated in.
It's currently shown at https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Firefox/bd-p/Privacy-Security/page/2 marked with a padlock (cor-el just locked the thread yesterday after posting a reply). The post link goes to https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Firefox/Use-a-Master-Password-to-protect-stored-logins-and-passwords/m-p/1437#U1437
When you search Google for "Use a Master Password to protect stored logins and passwords" the URL for the SUMO KB article shows up in the search results as:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/use-master-password-protect-stored-logins
...which redirects to:

P.S. When you go to https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Mozilla-Support-English/tkbc-p/Mozilla-EN and search the entire Knowledge Base for "Use a Master Password to protect stored logins and passwords" you get these as the top two results:
https://support.mozilla.org/t5/How-To/Use-a-Master-Password-to-protect-stored-logins-and-passwords/ta-p/18318 Use a Master Password to protect stored logins and passwords Redirect 1
https://support.mozilla.org/t5/How-To/Protecting-stored-passwords-using-a-master-password/ta-p/18288
Protecting stored passwords using a master password
Both are REDIRECTS to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/use-master-password-protect-stored-logins
Additionally, the bread crumbs at the top of those pages show that they're located in the "How to" Archive, https://support.mozilla.org/t5/How-To/tkb-p/how-to-archive which contains REDIRECTS for renamed KB articles.

For individual KB articles migrated as support questions, such as

Has anyone tried moving the support question to the product KB using the top 'Move Message' option?

It doesn't work. The 'Move Message' option doesn't let me select a KB as a destination. It only lets me select a forum.
More examples of KB articles that appear as forum posts, which I discovered looking through the 'Move Message' options:
The page https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Firefox-Display-and-Appearance/bd-p/Firefox-Controls looks to be a support forum. It contains three unanswered recent support questions (two dated Feb 10, 2017 and one from Feb 16, 2017). It also contains these Firefox KB articles that display as forum posts:
https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Firefox-Display-and-Appearance/Font-size-and-zoom-increase-the-size-of-web-pages/m-p/3625#U3625

The page https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Firefox-OS-Privacy-and-security/bd-p/Privacy-Security-OS also appears to be a support forum containing Firefox OS KB articles that display as forum posts but I won't list them all here.

Hi John,
As long as we have direct post-migration from Lithium, we hope to solve as many issues as possible with the migration team. I will bring this one up during our upcoming Platform meeting, so we can brainstorm on possible solutions from our side.
Cheers!

Copied from the (duplicate?) bug 1337668 comment 7 where I just posted the following:
We recreated two KB articles that were migrated as forum posts (there are plenty more):
1. The forum post https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Firefox-for-Android/Tracking-Protection-in-Firefox-for-Android/td-p/34124 was recreated as this "Tracking Protection in Firefox for Android" KB article:
https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Protect-your-privacy/Tracking-Protection-in-Firefox-for-Android/ta-p/1362736
2. The forum post https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Firefox-for-Android/Private-Browsing-on-Firefox-for-Android/td-p/16024 was recreated as this "Private Browsing on Firefox for Android" KB article:
https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Protect-your-privacy/Private-browsing-on-Firefox-for-Android/ta-p/1362735
However, the old kb URLs for those articles [1] [2] found via search engines, in other KB articles that still use the old URLs or in redirects such as https://support.mozilla.org/t5/How-To/Firefox-for-Android-tracking-protection/ta-p/27604 will still redirect to the support forum posts:
[1] https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/tracking-protection-firefox-android
[2] https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/private-browsing-firefox-android
Even if we could find and recreate all of the forum posts that should be KB articles, the forum posts will still be found because the old URLs will still redirect to them and those forum posts will eventually become outdated. Not sure how to solve that problem.

Moving to "support.mozilla.org - Lithium" - see https://support.mozilla.org/t5/SUMO-community-discussions/New-Bugzilla-Components/m-p/1370239
To Joni, vesper: Are either of you planning to recreate the rest of these KB articles that were incorrectly migrated as forum posts or are you waiting to see if Lithium folks have a better solution? This bug is still assigned to Scott Riley.

Hi Alice,
We are hoping for a solution from the Lithium team, so we'll keep you updated. If there is no way to fix this non-manually, we'll have to do it 'the hard way'.
In the meantime, if anyone finds TKB content as Forum posts, please list them here. Thanks!

The articles need to be moved to manually either via the nomination flow or copy/paste. Kudos will not transfer as they are meant to stay w/the original topic. Since your content was always meant to be an article in the first place, the kudos would be 'lost' for the resulting Article.
There is a way around this using the Kudos Weight Override feature.
Need Admin Role or Moderator (manage user permission) for these steps:
- Select a user (could be the generic one that is already assigned to the anonymous kudos).
- On the profile page for that user, go to the Moderator Controls
- Select "View/Manage this User's Settings"
- On the resulting page, Personal Tab on the right of the screen is "Kudos Weight Override"
- Select a value that a kudo should be worth for that user (500, 1000 etc use a general number that will just bump the article back up, it does not need to be identical to the article or micromanaged to that level).
If you want to get more granular, you can change the weight for multiple users in varying amounts (10/100/500/etc).
After the articles are published, switch to that user and give those articles kudos. That will bump them back up.

Hi Michal,
Are these all the documents you've found so far?
If you could create a pairing list, that would be ideal (and probably the fastest way to do it).
Thanks!

Yes, the list in the Google document is complete. Where should I fill the links of the corresponding English articles, they should be paired to?

John, the permissions of the form is only to submit content. The first link you can make comments on. Can you please be more specific as to where you are clicking or which you are trying to accomplish. This will help me better accommodate what you are trying to accomplish. Thank you.

Once a new article is created I would suggest adding a comment to the forum post with a link to the new article. Related discussion: https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Knowledge-Base-L10n-Discussions/Duplicate-articles-Lithium-migration-bug-1321830/m-p/1376121
Also, are the newly-created articles supposed to be marked "Needs L10n"?

Thanks Rachel, I guess you have fixed the documents now.
The link to the spreadsheet is now going to https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1gtlAV3uBD9UzvvTbwrTrcxNBrQAmgVr_HhtYDElZV2U/edit#gid=0 and works
I have posted that in your thread https://support.mozilla.org/t5/SUMO-community-discussions/Articles-that-appear-as-Boards-and-Threads-Please-report-here/m-p/1377775#M25878
The submission form now displays ok and is not asking me to get permission.
All I was doing was looking at what had been reported, and checking if the submission form was accessible.

My comment 16 listed other KB articles migrated as forum posts in the https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Firefox-Display-and-Appearance/bd-p/Firefox-Controls "board" but not this one and I don't it see mentioned above:
https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Firefox-Display-and-Appearance/Password-Manager-Remember-delete-change-and-import-saved/td-p/2254
Rachel, can you check that one and add it to the spreadsheet if it isn't there? I don't want to mess up your spreadsheet by trying to insert it in the wrong place. The old KB URL that links to that forum post is https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/password-manager-remember-delete-change-and-import (see also https://support.mozilla.org/t5/How-To/Password-manager-Remember-delete-and-change-saved-passwords-in/ta-p/27688 which contains that URL as a redirect)

New links for Czech, Slovenian, and a majority of English instances have been created. I will need help from the community members to move the old content to a hidden place or document it to link to the new article.
Then they will need to move it to the proper kb location if it is in the wrong one. Some are missing english ids.
I will not fix the outdated Firefox home info, this is no longer maintained right?

I have not heard from these communities as I know they are most likely affected:
+دعم فَيَرفُكس- عربي
+Mozilla Support - Dansk
+Mozilla Hilfe - Deutsch
+Mozilla Support - Ελληνικά
+Soporte de Mozilla - Español
+Mozilla-tuki - suomi
+Assistance de Mozilla - Français
+Mozilla támogatás - Magyar
+Dukungan Mozilla - Bahasa Indonesia
+Supporto Mozilla - Italiano
+Mozilla サポート - 日本語
+Mozilla 도움말 - 한국어
+Mozilla Support - Nederlands
+Pomoc Mozilli - polski
+Suporte Mozilla - Português (do Brasil)
+Поддержка Mozilla - Русский
+Mozilla Support - Svenska
+Mozilla Destek - Türkçe
+Підтримка Mozilla - Українська
+Mozilla Support - Tiếng Việt
+Mozilla 技术支持 - 中文 (简体)
+Mozilla 技術支援 - 正體中文 (繁體)
From the three locales that I copied and pasted new articles for there are about 50 total. (Depending on if the articles were translated from English - I would need to know who to reach out to)
Michal can you help me identify the kb locale leads for each of these locales to send instructions how they can report the links or how they can help create new articles for the improperly moved content?
(EST 20 locales * 50 articles ~= 1000 more to copy and paste for kb completeness 8 hrs per locale concentration permitting)
Madalina, can you evaluate the priority of this based on the estimated time it will take above. Thank you!

I went ahead and created this new Firefox KB article since it's an important one:
https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Protect-your-privacy/Password-Manager-Remember-delete-change-and-import-saved/ta-p/1380154
I edited the forum post to link to the new article.

Rachel, you can find the list of people working on different locales here: https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Contributor-Knowledge-Base/SUMO-localizers-amp-roles/ta-p/1366127
I will send messages to all of them to take a look at this bug and provide more input or help if they can.
Thank you for your work on this!

Hello, sorry, I've received the message but I didn't understand it very well - maybe my fault, I'm a bit tired.
We (Italians) have no public forum section so I don't understand where we are supposed to look for this "orphaned" articles.
If you have more information about this issue, i.e. which are the articles you don't find, please tell us and we will check if they are missing.

Hi
I found 36 misplaced Danish Articles.
Are you absolutely sure there is no other way to deal with this than copying the content and pasting it into a new article?

Underpass has sent you via email the links of the Italian articles that I've found starting from this link https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Support-Questions/ct-p/Support-Forums-it
I hope this could help. Sending over 39 links using the form I think could be dispersive and a very long procedure.
Just a question: At this link https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Privacy-and-security-settings/bd-p/Privacy-Security-Android-it (for example), I see also some closed thread of articles turned as support questions. Are those threads closed because of archived articles?

I checked the unified KB Dashboard at https://support.mozilla.org/t5/tkb/dashboardpage/category-id/Mozilla-EN and, although the new article was drafted by vesper on 02-15-2017 it was never published:

Sorry, I haven't used the form. Due to a bug I can't see the English Article ID so I haven't made any new Danish articles. Instead I have made a webpage with links to the misplaced Danish articles and links to the corresponding English articles.
Some of the corresponding English articles are misplaced too. Some English articles contain redirect links to misplaced English articles. 15 misplaced Danish articles are for Firefox OS. I haven't used time for finding the corresponding English articles for those.
You can find the info here: http://www.joergenr.dk/Mozilla/sumo/misplaced_articles.html

This was solved outside of this bug - thanks Underpass and michro! The articles are now in the Italian KB.

I will be cleaning these up for you, worry not. Thank you for the separate list - that's really great help!
I also finally got you to see the "Rediger" button on article pages. Took a while to figure out what's not working properly there, apologies for that.

Just an update, it appears we need to have all the new english ids finished before new articles can be created by Reviwers, Moderators, and Editors. I will repost the spreadsheet after completing english.

Another one I just came across browsing the archives, that needs to be added to the spreadsheet and recreated as a KB article (This is actually a Firefox article):
https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Thunderbird-Tab-Basics/Scroll-through-your-tabs-quickly/m-p/26700
The redirect page at
https://support.mozilla.org/t5/How-To/Scroll-though-your-tabs-quickly/ta-p/26778
links to the old KB URL: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/scroll-through-your-tabs-quickly

14 now, and still searching. Otherwise you will have to reverse look up the article - or wait for that language link feature.
