Details

I cannot send mail using the new custom port setup. Using same build (2002032003) on both win98 and win2k with same results. Trying to send mail to ATT's inet server imailhost.worldnet.att.net using port 465 and a secure connection with name and password. After clicking send, box comes up saying "sending message", which does not go away. Message is never sent, and upon cancellation, a "sending failed" message appears. thanks.
unable to send mail to a linux server using ssl and custom port
I have the same problem on Windows 2K.
Also true for Win2K Moz. 1.1Beta (Build 20020721) with attbi.com's mail (port 465/ssl). (mail.attbi.com/465/ssl)
also true sending from winxp to internal mail server running on a sun with smtp v 8.12.5
Appears to be same as 114225
This seems to be happening for me as well. Severe issues w/ SMTP & SSL. If I select "Always use SSL", it doesn't work, period. If I select "use SSL if possible" it usually works, but takes a long time. While its trying to send, it also seems to block Mozilla from making any other network connection (even just HTTP traffic). When I switch to the browser, it won't load any URLs until the mail has finished sending. This is all on Mac OS X. Build 2002102108, mozilla-trunk, I believe. Saving to "SENT" when connected to an IMAP server using SSL on port 993 seems to be problematic, too, as does just viewing mail in folders on said IMAP server, but this is covered under another bug, I believe (they just think its fixed - its not). Cheers.
