This was posted on HN: https://cloud.sagemath.com/projects/4a5f0542-5873-4eed-a85c-a18c706e8bcd/files/support/2017.sagews. They claim there are major performance issue and recommend Chrome/Edge/Safari, personally I don't see a big problem on that file at least. I checked it out in profiler, there seems to be a bunch of JS, but a lot of this has "Parse HTML" under it, so I am putting this under DOM for now.
One thing I've noticed is that moving the cursor with the keyboard (for example, putting the cursor in is_prime and keeping the right arrow pressed) is definitely slower with FF.
I pinged the SageMath devs, and they point me to flex layout bugs in Gecko.

Concretely, they pointed me to this issue: https://github.com/sagemathinc/smc/issues/1314,

Which in turn points to bug 1209697.

Moving to layout for now, we should consider marking this bug as a duplicate if we don't find any other perf problems.

I don't know how to use a select element apparently.
Component: JavaScript: Internationalization API → Layout
See https://github.com/sagemathinc/smc/issues/1314#issuecomment-278218472, this is fixed by bug 1209697. Any other issues should be tracked separately.
