It appears that SUMO uses a server-side UA sniff to determine whether to show the mobile or desktop version of the page, and that Firefox on tablets gets the desktop version, while Chrome on tablets get the mobile one.
I suspect it would be best to be consistent in this regard, as it appears to be a webcompat issue that Firefox gets the desktop page when there's a mobile version other browsers are seeing (a report was already filed on webcompat.com to that effect).

This issue seems to be fixed, I get mobile layout on my tablet.
