We currently have two external issues which are blocking this feature, and we would like to have a request a patch to disable it before the merge on the 23rd.
Next steps: 1. Chris mentioned that the 64-bit Flash plugin update might happen mid-Feb. Let's talk again then, around mid-Aurora53 cycle, on whether we might be in a position to re-enable "stub installer" for the reminder for aurora53 cycle and ride to beta53. 2. Chris also explained the absence of a 64-bit gtalk could be a potential blocker to the 64-bit Firefox rollout plan. We should also discuss this mid-Aurora Please let me know if there are any concerns with this plan or if I missed something here.
We don't need to disable the 64-bit stub installer. Jim and Tracy confirmed that Adobe's January 10 Flash release (version 24.0.0.194) has the async drawing fixes we needed. And the Hangouts team says they should have a plugin-free Hangouts live before the Firefox 52 release.
