User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.12; rv:53.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/53.0 Build ID: 20170210004018 Steps to reproduce: After running Firefox for some time, dragging UI element no longer works. Things like dragging tabs or drag toolbar icons in customization does not have any effect. I was able to find a way to reliably trigger this issue by doing the following: 1. Go to https://www.reddit.com/r/gifs/ 2. Find a post that has a media preview button. 3. Click the media preview button to expand the media. While Firefox is loading the content, quickly drag one of the links on the page. Actual results: After the bug is triggered, the user is not able to drag tabs along the tabs toolbar, or rearrange toolbar icons in customization view. In my case, mouse gesture addons like this one (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/fire-drag/) also stops working. Expected results: Such operation should not stop further drag and drop operations from working.
I ran the mozregression tool and got the following result: 13:50.76 INFO: Last good revision: 09a4e9d9b8fa5b3ca47a9a582575db2ed38dc260 13:50.76 INFO: First bad revision: 82ca4696b3425b6b5674ef48422d93a63dda2554 13:50.76 INFO: Pushlog: https://hg.mozilla.org/integration/mozilla-inbound/pushloghtml?fromchange=09a4e9d9b8fa5b3ca47a9a582575db2ed38dc260&tochange=82ca4696b3425b6b5674ef48422d93a63dda2554 13:51.87 INFO: Looks like the following bug has the changes which introduced the regression: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1235162

Pretty sure this is a duplicate of bug 1329997. Please re-open if I'm mistaken.

I am able to reproduce that issue on nightly builds using the steps from https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1329997#c44. I'll re-open and use this bug for further investigation.

I tried twenty or so times just now and was able to reproduce it once using similar steps.

Thanks! Have you seen any errors in the browser console when you run into this? That would be very helpful.

I saw no errors. It generally fixes itself after switching tabs and/or application focus. Note that I am using the steps in bug 1329997.

I just tried reproducing this again but have been unsuccessful. Are you still able to reproduce?
