what's your cpu speed, and how much memory do you have? It shouldn't lock up. I
just downloaded a 22,500 msg newsgroup without locking up. What's the newsgroup?
Is it any newsgroup, or a particular newsgroup?

CPU speed : Celeron 633 + 256 Mb
DSL line, using a local newserver (in order to merge newsgroups lists), called
hamster.
Both : fr.soc.religion (4780 messages)
fr.soc.sectes (1179 messages)
Mozilla stop replying and freeze. Having a lot of problem with 30th march build.

After testing, it seems to be an hamster (my local software mail/news server) limit.
What a pity :-/

How so? We still shouldn't freeze. Does it just stop giving back headers after a
certain point? Can you attach an NNTP protocol log?

When using Hamster (after 1500 messages), Mozilla stops responding. Headers are
not read anymore. Windows says that the program give no response and I have to
kill mozilla.
And no, I cannot give you a log. Sorry :-/
