When viewing a diff like https://support.mozilla.org/t5/tkb/articlehistorypage/message-revision/2858:1 the source is only displayed in HTML while the editor gives the possibility to operate in RTF and HTML. Most people don't know HTML - in fact they shouldn't have to - and so this could be a major obstacle to break in new contributors. For example. In Kitsune the text wasn't in HTML but in the same format as Wikipedia which was far easier to handle. So it's better if the en-us text is presented in a way that the vast majority of people can understand. Thanks.
Summary: The source of an article is only displayed in HTML → Article source/diff is only displayed in HTML
+NI from Madalina for handling & prioritization. At first sight this looks like a massive undertaking that would require coming up with a complete "dictionary" for converting HTML code into the other syntax and adding a separate content view mode to the platform. I was not around when Kitsune's wiki-like syntax was created and I could not find a bug that would describe this in more detail, but I guess we have a "paper trail" for that feature somewhere in Bugzilla?

this is lower priority than {redirects, l10n and showfor and our other high priority stuff) so i am setting to P3; if people want to help, a project plan or statement of work in a google doc or wiki page would be great!

I would like to have this but our hands are full with: redirects, L10n, showfor, AAQ user agent, etc) Setting to WONTFIX. Let's revisit and possibly re-open at the All Hands in Mexico in December or after rolling back to Lithium (which ever comes first).
