There is 1 crash in nightly 55 with buildid 20170309030216. In analyzing the backtrace, the regression may have been introduced by patch [1] to fix bug 1340398.

18 occurrences in Nightly 20170331030216, making this the #8 windows topcrash.
A number of the crash reports have a message like the below in the "Graphics critical error" field:

|[G0][GFX1-]: Failed to OpenSharedResource for SyncObjectD3D11: 0x887a0005 (t=1.57068) |[G1][GFX1 4]: Without device reset: 0x887a0005 (t=1.57068)
The spike (~100+ crashes in the last day) appears to be a single machine insta-crashing many times (dozen-plus reports with the  same second, then a dozen the second after that, etc).  per Milan we shouldn't be repeatedly crashing more than 3 times in a row, but someone may have modified the preference
Setting to fix-optional for 55 since the crash volume has been so low for the past 7 days (and most of them have been on 53...).

This -particular- crash (i.e. with error: 0x887a0005) doesn't seem to have occurred much recently.

It seems that I don't see any crash reports in ff-57 build. It has probably been fixed in central by some other bugs.
I will handle this crash at bug 1409176.
