134635 - Selected Message Scrolls Out of View After Sort Change

Not new. Much older than I can recall.

Steps to reproduce: not entirely clear. IOW, more than one way to do it. Here's one:

1-Open a newsgroup folder containing many messages, such that when sorted by
thread, not all threads fit in the pane, even when all are collapsed, and even
though body pane is turned off.
2-Click the button to shut off the body pane, leaving only the folder and header
panes showing.
3-Sort by thread.
4-Select a message.
5-Change the sort order to sender.

Actual result:
selected message not showing in thread pane, even after clicking button to turn
on the body pane (usual result, probably more than 90% of the time)

Expected result:
selected message showing in thread pane (always, like Netscape 4.x)

I can reproduce this with today's CVS.

this is very easy to recreate with the message pane collapsed away, and very
hard (impossible for me) with the message pane showing. Not sure why, except
that reselecting the message after the sort might be fixing the scrolling.
