I receive e-mail messages from users of the IncrediMail PC e-mail program. While most of the messages display fine, I receive some that do not. The background image does not show up. This appears to be a HTML or MIME issue. If needed, I can upload screenshots or sample messages.
Please attach a test case message to this bug report. Thanks
Added *.tiff attachment. This is a screenshot from Mozilla (using the Grab application) showing the message displayed incorrectly. The background does not display. Also, the "IncrediMail - Click Here" advertisement does not show up on the next screenshot (taken from IncrediMail on a Win98 PC) because while this ad is in the message HTML, the IncrediMail program blocks it from displaying in IncrediMail.
This is the screenshot taken from IncrediMail. Note that not all IncrediMail messages have problems displaying in Mozilla. The ones with just a background and no other pictures or embedded content are the ones that usually DO NOT display right. Also, FYI, IncrediMail is a Windows PC e-mail program that is designed for sending rich-content HTML e-mail messages.
Can you attach the message itsefl to this bug report please.

Joel, we need a test case. Can you attach a sample email message to this bug report. Thanks
Attached file Sample e-mail message
Let me know if you need more test messages -- I have a copy of IncrediMail on another computer so I can generate some more test cases. Some other problems include the background not displaying at all (fairly common), sounds not playing, or animations not showing.
I'm not sure what the expected rendering is for the attached message. Apparently there are four images attached: one comprises the header, one is at the end of the quoted message (this appears as a broken image), and two included in the footer. However, the four BASE64-encoded MIME parts are each given a Content-Type of "unknown/unknown". GIF? JPG? PNG? BMP? Who knows? Why should Mozilla be expected to guess what those are? Other than that, the MIME structure of this message looks correct. Is Incredimail still generating mail like these, or have they figured out how to abide by standards? Is (or was) the only problem with Incredimail that the images weren't being seen?

Will have to check and see if the problem is still present. I don't use Incredimail much at all anymore. I should have time to test over the weekend and see if Incredimail still generates bad HTML. I hadn't noticed the unknown/unknown until now.
Joel Nelson, have you had an opportunity to verify whether IncrediMail still generates the same bogus mail? I am inclined to mark this bug WontFix, but I would like to know for sure whether it's even still a problem.
Will need to check and see; should be able to do that this week.
