Background: 1. Firefox has "Data Choices" settings in the "Advanced" section of the "Preferences". 2. Firefox Health Report (FHR) is described as "Helps you understand your browser performance and shares data with Mozilla about your browser health". 3. "Additional Data (i.e. Telemetry)" is described as "Shares performance, usage, hardware and customization data about your browser with Mozilla to help us make Firefox better" Problem: FHR actually does also include usage data [1], hardware data [2] and customization data [3]. [1] See: scalars, e.g. browser.engagement.total_uri_count" [2] See: "environment data" [3] See: "UITelemetry" (including default search engine) Steps to reproduce: 1. Start fresh Firefox (which has FHR enabled by default). 2. Check out about:healthreport or about:telemetry. Solution: The FHR description should be updated to reflect the whole extent of the associated data. For instance, the description used on the about:healthreport page could be used: "Firefox Health Report (FHR) records anonymous data about your computer, configuration, usage, performance, and error conditions."
The preferences text here is outdated and dates back to before we decided we need to collect broader sets of release data. Peter, do you know who the right person is to evaluate this? I assume any legal implications are for Marshall? UX/policy/copy wise i don't know.

It looks like this issue is no longer valid, so I'm resolving it as fixed.
