Thanks for reporting this. I have confirmed that this bug exists in Firefox, though it also exists in Google Chrome Version 59.0.3048.0 (Official Build) canary (64-bit) and it also exists in Microsoft Edge 38.14393.0.0. All tested on Windows 10. Therefore this isn't worth fixing since this doesn't work in Firefox, Chrome, or Edge.

Resolution: --- → WONTFIX
I do see that this is a regression from 52, where in version 52 of Firefox these option elements are visible in the popup. However, I just tested with Internet Explorer 11 and they also show the options as white. Given that this is now consistent across all major Windows browsers, I'm inclined to stick with the WONTFIX resolution.
