This is the tracker bug for releasing the SHIELD system add-on to the Beta and Release channels via a system add-on update. The plan is to: - Run a survey on the Beta channel (currently active) - Release the system add-on to the Beta channel for Firefox 53. - Re-run the previous survey for a similar amount of time and compare the responses to the previous survey run to verify if pre- and post-add-on function similarly. - If the comparison passes, release the system add-on to the Release channel. - Concurrent to the steps above: Sync the changes in Github to mozilla-central and uplift them to Aurora 54, and un-disable the built-in system add-on for Beta and Release starting with Firefox 54.
Small timing update: The update to release will happen after 53 hits release, we won't be shipping the add-on to release 52.
shield-recipe-client 1.0.0 is now available on 53.* in Balrog on the release-sysaddon test channel.
shield-recipe-client 1.0.0 is now shipping 100% to the 53.* release channel.
