As seen by the work necessary for bug 910022, there are many cases that have to be implemented to properly forward styling from the content process to the parent process to make the parent-process popup resemble what the content process desired. There are also other cases that need to be handled specially such as bug 1351080. Another bug is that we can't interpolate CSS transition values on the parent-process popup (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1352963#c6). Is there some way that we can make this work and still have the <select> popup in the style tree of the content process? I don't know of a way, but this bug is filed to highlight the issue in the event someone else figures it out.
Summary: Duplication of elements and styling forwarding is not sustainable → Duplication of <select> <option> elements and styling forwarding is not sustainable
Severity: normal → S3
