Dragging an image from the news reader window to a Finder location results in
the "spring back" animation and nothing is copied. Actually Internet Explorer
works very nicely in this respect - suggest this feature copied including small
translucent image.

Doing nothing (springing back) is actually better than what's happening in the 
browser, so it's better that this bug doesn't get fixed before that one does.

Graham, what Build ID are you reporting this problem against?

WorksForMe using Mac/2002072203. Dragging an image from a news message to the Finder results in a 
"news location" file being created. When opened in a Mozilla browser window, the image is then 
displayed.

This may or may not be the best behavior, but I observed no "spring-back" behavior.
