With ATT and IBM releasing P3P tools for IE today, it's time to start including P3P in the mozilla builds. ATT tool: http://www.privacybird.com/ IBM tool: http://www.tivoli.com/resource_center/maximize/privacy/wizard_code.html CNN coverage: http://www.cnn.com/2002/TECH/internet/04/04/ibm.privacy.reut/index.html
*NO*
Yes, Timeless, did you have something you wanted to share with the rest of the class? Anyway, this isn't a bug, it's a request for enhancement. And even enhancement status is dubious, since -- if it's at all similar to the UI which was present when P3P was in the Mozilla tree earlier -- it makes the cookie UI far too complicated to be understandable, effectively *reducing* users' privacy on average since they're less likely to be able to be able to use it. (Unfortunately I think that complexity is an inherent problem with P3P, rather than with any particular UI for it.)
Severity: major → enhancement
It's my understanding that harish had asked drivers' permission to do so and it was denied. Reassigning to harish to follow up.

happy to have further confirmation, but this seems to be a dupe of bug 128639. assuming the answer is still "no", maybe an RFE bug could be left open for voting purposes? (i'd suggest 128639 got altered for the purpose and this marked as a dupe, seeing as that bug has already attracted some votes)
