User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:54.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/54.0 Build ID: 20170411074804 Steps to reproduce: 1. Updated to Firefox 54 and changed OS from Fedora 25 to Ubuntu 17.04 (possibly unrelated) 2. Browsed to https://bugzilla.gnome.org Actual results: See attached screenshot Expected results: The site should render properly (check in Firefox stable or any other browser)
I forgot to mention, I tried this on a completely fresh profile as well.
WFM with FF54/55 on Win 7. It looks like Firefox fails to load the system fonts, all text is missing.
jonas, could you download the tool mozregression to narrow down a regression range in FF54, please. See http://mozilla.github.io/mozregression/ for details. Run the command "mozregression --good=53" (or 52, whatever) and for each build launched by the tool, make the test and enter if the build is good or bad. After the run, paste here the final pushlog.

Ok I found out a couple of things: 1. 52 is also broken (while it worked fine on Fedora), so this is actually related to the OS change Fedora 25 -> Ubuntu 17.04 and not a regression due to a firefox update. 2. Nevertheless, there are actually very old builds that work! The taskcluster builds seem to be gone since the regression window is so old, but the page displays correctly up to good revision: ff2e07228041 (2015-05-27), and displays incorrectly in bad revision: baa9c64fea6f (2015-05-28) and newer (pushlog https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/pushloghtml?fromchange=ff2e07228041&tochange=baa9c64fea6f ). Maybe that gives you an idea which component is related to this problem, even though it's technically not something caused primarily by a recent Firefox update but rather some OS configuration difference

Maybe one of these 2 bugs: John Daggett — Bug 1167281 - sort scalable fonts first when resolving generic families under Linux. r=karlt John Daggett — Bug 1163491 - map local fontnames to fontconfig patterns. r=karlt jtd, any idea about this issue?

If you load an affected page and use the DevTools Inspector to examine one of the "invisible" text elements such as the "Welcome to GNOME Bugzilla" title on https://bugzilla.gnome.org, what does the Fonts panel of the inspector show?
Is there anything else you need? This is still broken for me, which makes reporting GNOME bugs a bit of a hassle
I just noticed https://www.gnome.org/gnome-3/ is broken as well. I'm attaching a screenshot taken in Firefox 55.0b9
