If you read http://www.bugzilla.org/docs/html/cmdline.html , you will notice that it says that you need to download the files manually (e.g. using wget). This is no longer necessary since the files are now in cvs, see http://lxr.mozilla.org/mozilla/source/webtools/bugzilla/contrib/cmdline
Target Milestone: --- → Bugzilla 2.16
Barnboy changed his email address and opened a new account instead of having the address changed on his existing one. Reassigning all docs bugs to his new account.

afranke: is fixing these merely a case of saying that they now ship with Bugzilla, or are there other documentation changes required related to command-line queries? Gerv
1) The instructions to download the three files are obsolete. Instead, they can be found in the contrib/cmdline subdirectory of bugzilla. The "chmod" step may be obsolete, too: at least when I "update -d cmdline", I get the "buglist" and "bugs" files already with executable bits set. But it can't hurt. 2) You can add a pointer to bug 6419 if you like. At the end of the bug, there is some recent discussion on how to make it work on solaris. 3) Note that the "bugs" script only works with the current version of b.m.o. It does not work with the templatized version, since the buglist.cgi output has changed dramatically. Maybe someone will be able to fix it, maybe not. In any case, this will be better solved with yet another buglist template. :-) In case you are interested in making one (maybe something like "idlist" would be a suitable format name), here is one example output: afranke@gentzen [/tmp/cmdline] ./bugs --status=NEW,ASS,REOP --assignedto=gerv --product=Bugzilla --milestone=2.16 140435,140437,140993,141036 afranke@gentzen [/tmp/cmdline] 4) Currently the bugs script creates a tmp file in the same directory where the scripts are. So if you want to use the bugs script, but you are not the owner of the cmdline directory, you have to copy the directory and use the bugs script in your copy. But this may be of very little use anyway, because of issue 3). The buglist script does not have this problem because it does not need a tmp file.
Done in my local copy; this will go into 2.16 branch CVS tonight. Gerv
