Details

4/2 03 trunk build on NT4+SP5.

I use the file explorer to find a jpeg file and dragged that into an open
browser window. After viewing the image, I closed that browser window. I then
went to delete the file and the OS wouldn't let me. I haven't tried exiting the
browser yet, but I expect that'll clear it up. I'll report back in a bit...
Exiting browser allowed me to delete the file. Adding Darin. Is this a cache
problem?
not a cache problem, but perhaps someone is leaking a file descriptor somewhere.
 i'll take a look.

dup of bug 131711 -> bug 126829?
hmm... i failed to repro this using the 2002040608 build under win2k.

i'm curious, what were you doing before you hit this problem? had you loaded
this file before? or done something in the browser to create this file? had
you uploaded this file? i ask, because i couldn't repro it after doing the
following:

1) locate an image online
2) save it
3) close mozilla
4) open mozilla
5) open new browser window
5) drag image from explorer to new browser window
6) close new browser window
7) delete file using explorer --> no problem!

were you using turbo mode?
I used a screen capture tool to create the image. Other than that, the steps
you list are the same. I probably had turbo running, I'd have to try again to
be sure (my prefs say it's on, but the icon isn't in the tray.)
steve: hmm, so are you able to repro this with today's build?
haven't gotten caught up enough to try that yet. I'll try to get to it later
this afternoon...

Also, I went into prefs and turned turbo off and back on and now the icon is in
the tray.
I just did the same steps again and couldn't repro it. One difference is that I
posted these images as attachments and when it *did* happen I was using bugzilla
and when it *didn't* happen I was using bugscape. Any possibility that the
problem is related to however bugzilla posts attachments?
