User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:55.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/55.0
Build ID: 20170425030221

Steps to reproduce:

Open read.amazon.com (or your local equivalent like lesen.amazon.de) with a big library. Unfortunately this can't be evaluated without an Amazon account with some ebooks in it.

Actual results:

The page will take minutes to load while freezing the whole content process in the process (i5 6200u, 16 GB Ram, 4 content processes enabled).
Switching to the Kindle Cloud Reader from another tab it will often trigger a tab spinner for several seconds.

Expected results:

The page should load much faster and shouldn't block the content process, causing tab spinners.

I don't think that site is particularly well written, still it may be something for Project Quantum Flow to look into.

Performance is not the best in Chrome either, but there it loads many times faster and doesn't freeze other tabs.
Blocks: QuantumFlow
I had a more thorough look at this, the site continues to load all the cover images of every ebook in the library. I have a few thousand ebooks there, so it will continue to load images for over ten minutes.
This is probably nothing that can be fixed by the browser, more of how the browser can stay responsive during that time (like Chromium based browsers). Might the planned separate network process be helpful in that case?
Chrome - finished after 10 minutes
Firefox - halfway there after 30 minutes

fwiw I have about 150 books in my library and there is obvious problem with the page load.

should say "there is NO obvious problem". impt word was left out :)
That is to be expected. 150 books should be loaded in a few seconds, no problems there.
As you can see in my screenshot over 10,000 requests for book covers are being sent.

Like I said, Kindle Cloud Reader is not done very well. However I think the browser shouldn't freeze because of a single website or take over three times as long for the same amount of requests.
Severity: normal → S3
