In bug 1234558 we added support for using the web manifest icon when adding the site to the homescreen. I get the icon for most sites, but not for https://toot.cafe (a mastodon instance). Its manifest looks like: https://toot.cafe/manifest.json I'm running on FF54 beta 2 right now. It was also reported as a problem here: https://toot.cafe/@nolan/303585 Dale, what do you think?

Do you have manifest.install.enabled set to true? right now using the manifest is behind a pref thats default false, aiming to flip the switch for 55. Most sites end up getting the same icon since they use the same link rel=icon as a fallback I just tried it in toot.cafe with it set to true and get a nice icon + title, would be interested to know if there are any issues with this one since it has a start_url thats non root and opens in standalone mode

Yep, that works for me. Thanks! Is there a bug to flip the pref? We can just dupe to that.
