+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1287332 +++

When the user is in online mode, but the server is not available, a MODIFICATION_FAILED dialog pops up and interrupts the user.

We should find a way to remove this dialog, but still inform the user that writing failed and that there are unsynchronized local events that have not been written to the server.
Maybe using the notification system of Thunderbird ? Or a small colored banner...
