Steps to reproduce:
Firefox crashed on the wayback machine, I submitted a report, restored firefox and the session restore page came up as expected. Clicked restore and found nothing had been saved since updating to Firefox 53 - it only restored data from Firefox 52.
I dug into the files and found recovery.js/recovery.bak had been overwritten with the same post-restore session, however, previous.js is the same content as upgrade.js-20170413192749 which is what was restored after the crash.

The last needinfo from me was triggered in error by recent activity on the bug. I'm clearing the needinfo since this is a very old bug and I don't know if it's still relevant.
