Steps to Reproduce:
1.open a browser window
2.type the url in the URL text field: eps.sourceforge.net
3.voila'

Which JRE Version Do you use ?
Does it also hang if you disable Java in the preferences ?

Works for me, 2002040708 and JRE 1.3.1 on WinME.
