1362024 - "Unable to start the application" error dialog for pingsender.exe when shutting down windows while Firefox is open

Every time I shutdown windows while Firefox is open I see for a couple seconds a dialog whose title points to pingsender.exe and the message reads something like "Unable to start the application. Error XXX."

It's a little bit annoying and may look like the system has some virus or malware.

Note, what I see is just a small error dialog, not a terminal (not bug 1360819)

Thanks for reporting this! I think that's happening because we're unable to spawn the new process, since we're shutting down. Let's see if landing bug 1360819 helps (by making it fail silently).

This is reproducible in Windows-10 with latest nightly using the steps provided above.

I've just tested this with today's nightly (which includes the fix for bug 1360819) and I can't seem to reproduce. Marco, is this still happening to you?

So far, after bug 1360819, I could not reproduce. It's also true I only tested 2 shutdowns, but before I was seeing it every single time, so it should be fixed \O/

Nice, let's leave it open for a day or so and then close it if you're still not able to reproduce it, Marco!
