137122 - Intermittent Filter Failures

Sighted on builds 2002-04-07, 2002-04-09, 2004-04-10 on Win98se (4.10.2222)
All the following seem to go together:
1) Upon starting MailNews the Inbox Summary File gets re-built [every time];
2) When the Summary is rebuilt, from 40 to 300 messages suddenly appear in the
inbox;
3) The messages that appear in (2) should have been filtered - they should not
be in inbox - with the same frequency I would estimate for Non-Filtered/Filtered;
4) This seems to hit some destination folders more than others, but I cannot see
any obvious difference;
5) The missed destination folders receive "clumps" of messages that should have
gone elsewhere;
6) Many messages are corrupted -- example attached;
7) When exiting Mozilla, after a lot of disk activity I get a crash.  Attached.
