User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:56.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/56.0 Build ID: 20170613030203 Steps to reproduce: Tried looking for settings in About:Config Actual results: Could not find how to change size of viewport when playing Webvr videos Expected results: Some sort of setting to adjust wether prefer sphere, dome, fisheye and degrees of view.
Component: Untriaged → WebVR
Product: Firefox → Core
The viewport size is according to the hardware spec that we are running, we will query these info then send back to users as VREyeParameters, https://w3c.github.io/webvr/spec/1.1/#interface-vreyeparameters. If you wanna support sphere, dome, fisheye style viewports, that perhaps can be made in the content side.
For WebVR 1.1 this is controlled by content. Are you making your own web site, or wanting to adjust the rendering on an existing site? Some time in the future, there may be some extensions for the HTML5 Video element which could have controls similar to what you are describing. I recommend filing a feature request as an issue on the WebVR spec to encourage further discussion: https://github.com/w3c/webvr/issues/new I'll close this issue for Firefox for now, but would love to see your feedback on making the spec improvements.
