in the last 1-2 days i started noticing that the tabs-close animation got much more laggy in my nightly profile, to a point where it's getting quite distracting.

This sounds like something past was hitting today. Do you have the Containers Test Pilot experiment active? If so, does disabling it help?

yes i have v2.3.0 of the container testpilot addon running and disabling it is getting rid of the lag immediately indeed.

yes, looks like it was raised at https://github.com/mozilla/testpilot-containers/issues/598 - thanks for helping to triage the issue so quickly.

Mike, should we close this off as this relates to the test pilot? As per comment#4, we have a github issue opened to address the performance regression.

I think I asked Mike last week and he said yes, but I'm jetlagged and I might be imagining things.
