1375598 - Container tabs are triggered accidentally when switching back to Firefox

I pretty frequently accidentally trigger the container tabs menu when I am switching contexts back to Firefox from another app and try to open a new tab, particularly when my computer is doing something resource intensive in the background. I noticed there might be a bit of a delay in handling the click event?

This sounds like you are using the Test Pilot experiment as well as nightly?

We think we will be moving back to how nightly uses this menu due to these kinds of issues. Instead of this menu being on hover it will return to being a long press after we establish if there is other ways we can make containers easier to open.

I am actually using the version built into nightly – I think the long press is being erroneously triggered somehow?

Hmm that is super odd, I guess your initial description makes sense then.
Have you noticed the same happen to the back/forward button ever? (the code is pretty much identical at this point)

I haven't, although I don't think I usually press the back button as I am switching contexts, I am typically always opening a new tab. If I hit the issue again I could try to see if it happens with the back button as well – although that sounds like it might just be my machine/maybe not much can be done about it
