From bug 1354159: Update the bookmarks menu button popup to do something similar as the patch there and get rid of the customizableui listener (see BookmarkingUI) and simplify a lot of code.

PanelMultiView reparents the panelview internally, so the controller may get lost. In that case we should append it again, because we certainly need it later!
