Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:54.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/54.0 Build ID: 20170628075643 Steps to reproduce: Steps 1. Make sure Menu bar is enabled. (menu->view->Toolbars-> check "menu Bar") 2. Login to gmail 3. press CTRL+F (to find something) Actual results: Gmail view is changed. The complete view is shrink. Expected results: Gmail view should not shrink. However, if there is no enough space to fit content, then few items can be sent down (scrollable). Sorry can't attach screenshot due to security breaches.

Cannot reproduce. What's your exact screen size? What is your zoom level?

(In reply to Rajendra Singh from comment #0) > Actual results: > > Gmail view is changed. The complete view is shrink. Depending on what you mean, this is exactly what's supposed to happen. The findbar takes up some space, so the viewport for Gmail must necessarily shrink. > Expected results: > [...] if there is no enough space to fit > content, then few items can be sent down (scrollable). Right -- that's a reasonable expectation, and that's basically what happens for me, if I try to reproduce the bug. So, I'm not able to trigger the issue you're describing. A few questions: (1) In the steps-to-reproduce, it sounds like the menu bar and findbar are only relevant in that they "steal" some of your screen's height -- is that correct? (2) If so: can you reproduce the same problem if you simply make your browser window a bit shorter in height? (3) Could you clarify what "items" are missing/impossible to reach via scrolling, when the problem has occurred? (Are they email listings? Or email folders / contact names in the left sidebar? Or some piece of the page's footer?)

(Calling this "wontfix" for the 57 release because, to the extent I understand what's going on here, it doesn't sound like there's a low-risk fix we could take on our side for 57.)
