On build 2002-04-15 (1.0 branch) on WinNT. If you minimize a window, then re-open, the focus is somewhere(?) other than the document. So, you can't scroll with the keyboard. I assume this should be marked as blocked by bug 37638 ? Or, is this test-case already included in that venerable bug?
WFM Win95 2002041703
Thanks for checking on Win95. it's still broke for me, though, build 2002-04-17(11) (1.0 branch) on WinNT
WFM, XP, 2002041603 *trunk*. Adding 1.0branch to summary. Even if i place cursor in url-bar or a form before minimizing: when i minimize and restore it, focus is on page when and i can scroll.
Summary: unminimized windows don't focus on document → unminimized windows don't focus on document (1.0 branch)
This seems to be a very specific test-case (1.0 branch, on WinNT). It still fails on new 1.0.RC1 release, too. I'm adding as a blocker to the meta "focus" tracking bug 55416. Hopefully, that will get some more testers involved and finally get this marked NEW...

I've confirmed this personally with Mozilla 1.0 (build 2002053012) on Win98. The circumstances are a tad specific however. Here's how I have to recreate the bug: 1) Make note of what part of the page currently has focus. 2) Click the Minimize button in the window title bar ("-" in upper right). Using the "Minimize" option on the system menu in the upper left also does the trick. However clicking the taskbar button to minimize doesn't cause this bug to surface. 3) Once minimized, click the taskbar icon or use Alt-Tab to restore the window. Whatever had focus before (this could be the document itself, a text field within the document, the location pane for entering page URLs, anything) no longer has it. I'm not sure where the focus goes. Perhaps the minimize button has it, but doesn't show it.
Worksforme Mozilla 1.2 beta, Windows 98. Went to Google. Focus was in text box. Minimized. Unminimized. Focus is still in text box. Reporter, could you download Mozilla 1.2 beta or later and try it again?
well, with build 2002-11-21 (trunk) on WinNT, I get varying results. It seems to depend on what part of the browser had focus beforehand (url-bar vs doc window vs particular link within window) and what method I use to un-minimize it (clicking on taskbar vs alt-tab'ing to it). Since I don't know what the expected behaviour is *supposed* to be, I'm just marking this as WORKSFORME. Is there a document somewhere that identifies what the goal is for focus issues? I know bug 55416 covers some of this but it doesn't mention anything about focus when switching between windows.
